Easy Ways to Get Rid of the Mold from your Home

Throughout the history, people have been fighting a lot of wars, some of them were won but some of them were lost. And when it comes to mold, most of people lose this war. No matter what they do, how they clean it and what products they use, the mold keeps coming back. Like an undead army. And the most common mistake that leads to this is the fact that after removing the mold, they stop taking any measures: mold is something that is difficult to remove, but not impossible, and once done, you will still have to prevent it from re-appearing it. And there are a few “magic” tricks that can help you stop mould from being a winner all the time. All you need to do is know how to use them and more important when to use them:

If you have already been fighting with the mould, then it`s time you take some action. And what better action than try to remove it? It doesn’t matter whether the mould is on glass, vinyl, plastic or metal surfaces. There are two “magic” allies that you can use in this fight. One is bleach which should be mixed with water (in a percentage of 50) and sprayed on the areas affected from mould and the other one is borax. For good results mix in a solution ½ cup of borax, ½ vinegar and 2 cups of warm water. These two solutions should be strong enough to remove mold from glass, vinyl and plastic. In case you have mold on metallic surfaces then you can either use plain white distilled vinegar sand spray it on the area or the solution obtained by mixing borax and vinegar.

The main problem, though, is not how to remove the mold, but how to prevent it from appearing again. Because if you don’t take any measures, it will come back for sure. Here are a few tips which should help you prevent the mold from coming back:

•    Reduce humidity - This might not seem that important, but a high level of humidity is what makes the mold to reappear. The best option is to keep a dehumidifier which will reduce the moisture in your home. They can be purchased from every supermarket at a rather affordable price.

•    If you have windows near the affected areas keep them open as much as possible. The sunlight and fresh air are one of the mould`s worst enemies, because the mould loves the dark areas with stagnating air. The more sunlight and fresh air the rooms gets, the less chances are for the mould to come back.

•    Clean and disinfect the affected areas regularly. Even if the mold is not there anymore, by doing this you will prevent it from re-appearing. You can keep a solution made of vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray it around every time you use the shower.

If you notice that, despite all your efforts, the mold keeps re-appearing then it`s time you called some professionals. They will know exactly how to deal with the problem.
